FAQ & care

Good to know.

The questions we hear most about our wax, our burns, and getting a candle to your door.

What kind of wax do you use?
Every Ember Lane candle is poured from a natural soy-coconut wax blend with lead-free cotton wicks and phthalate-free fragrance oils. It burns cleaner and longer than paraffin, with a soft, even melt pool and no black soot on the glass.
How long will my candle burn?
Our 8 oz jars burn for about 60 hours. To get the most from every candle, let the wax melt fully to the edge on the first burn and trim the wick to about a quarter inch before each light.
Are the candles really hand-poured?
Yes — every one. We blend, pour, cure, and hand-label in small 24-candle batches out of our studio in Clinton, New York. Nothing is mass-produced or drop-shipped.
Do you ship, and how much does it cost?
We ship anywhere in the continental US, and shipping is free on orders over $60. Local orders around Clinton, Utica, and Rome can choose free porch pickup at checkout. (This is a demo store — no orders are actually placed.)
Can I reuse the jar?
Please do. Once the candle is spent, pop it in the freezer for an hour, lift out the last of the wax, and wash the jar with warm soapy water. It makes a lovely little tumbler, planter, or catch-all.
Do you take custom or wholesale orders?
We do. We hand-pour custom scents and private labels for weddings, closings, and local shops across Central New York. Email hello@emberlane.co and we’ll put together a quote.
